MEGADETH Drummer Looking Forward To 'Canadian Carnage' Tour
June 15, 2009MEGADETH drummer Shawn Drover has issued the following update:
"In just a bit more than one week now, the 'Canadian Carnage' shows [with SLAYER, MACHINE HEAD and SUICIDE SILENCE] in western Canada will commence, and man, I am excited about that!!! Vancouver is one of my favorite cities on earth, which makes it even more awesome for me. I know this is going to go by in the blink of an eye, so I am going to try to have as much fun as I can, and enjoy it for what it is — a bunch of great bands bringing some serious heavy metal to entertain you.
"To those of you who will attend these shows, I hope you will have as much fun as I will!!
"As well, I have a drum clinic at Seminole Music and Sound in Seminole, Florida on July 9 at 7:00 p.m., which I am also very much looking forward to. If you reside anywhere near this location, drop by and say hello. I am going to try to make this a bit more of a fun thing, instead of talking about proper stick control and rudiments for two and a half hours. Not that there is anything wrong with that; it's just not my thing, humans."
A six-minute video featuring MEGADETH's British producer Andy "Undie" Sneap (NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY, EXODUS) describing the process of mixing the band's new track "Headcrusher" at his studio in Derbyshire, U.K. can be viewed below. The clip, which was previously only available to members of MEGADETH's official fan club, MegaFanClub, features around 30-second snippet of the actual "Headcrusher" track which will appear on MEGADETH's forthcoming album, set to be released in September via Roadrunner Records.
Other songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Nothing Left To Lose But My Mind", "The Hardest Part of Letting Go... Is Saying Goodbye", "Bite The Hand That Feeds", "1320", "How The Story Ends", "This Day We Fight" and "Endgame".
MEGADETH's forthcoming LP will be the group's first with guitarist Chris Broderick, who replaced Glen Drover at the end of 2007.
